Ingredients

  • 400g soaked chickpeas (or canned)
  • 400g soaked borlotti beans (or canned)
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • ¼ tsp asafoetida
  • 1 tsp ginger minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green chilli, chopped
  • 400ml coconut cream
  • 60ml ghee

For the tempering:

  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 150ml ghee
  • 150g baby spinach leaves, picked
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander
