800g tinned whole peeled tomatoes, crushed by hand

Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper

420g whole-milk ricotta cheese (about 2 cups)

1 large egg

1/4 cup milk

1/2 cup packed basil leaves, roughly chopped

3/4 cup grated Parmesan 

450g block whole-milk mozzarella cheese, shredded (about 4 cups)

12 flat no-boil lasagna noodles (7-by-3.5-inches each)
