Ingredients

Softened butter, for bowls and baking pan

For the glaze:

  • 1 cup light muscavado sugar
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 orange, zest finely grated
  • 1 cup sliced almonds, lightly toasted

For the dough:

  • 1 package yeast (7g)
  • 1 cup warm milk (about 40 degrees C)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar, plus a pinch
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

For the filling:

  • 8 tablespoons softened butter
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
