1 cup 2% milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste

1 teaspoon finely grated orange zest

1 large egg yolks

¼ cup sugar

3 tablespoons cornstarch

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature

1 tablespoon orange liqueur or brandy (optional)

2 peaches, peeled and sliced

1 cup fresh raspberries

¼ cup apple jam (apricot or peach jam would also work)
